Transfer: David Villa Not Going To Juve

The Spanish striker was rumoured to be on the verge of joining the old lady at the end of the current season, but both the Spanish club and agent have denied this news.

Uprising striker David Villa has caught the eyes of various big European clubs, and according to latest speculation Juventus were closest to sign him up from the Spanish club.

However, these rumours have been quickly denied by Valencia and the player's agent, with the Sports Director of the club, Amedeo Carboni declaring:

"We did not receive offers, then it is not our intention to sell the player."

The player's agent, Jose Luis Tamargo, agrees with Carboni, stating that his client is not interested in leaving the club.

"My client does not want to leave, because he is happy at Valencia. The rest is just speculation."

The Bianconeri are trying to build a strong side for their return to Serie A next season, to be able to compete for the Scudetto straight away as President Cobolli Gigli confirmed in the past days.

General: Trezeguet Unsure About Future

The Juventus striker believes that 7 years with the Old Lady might be too many and has not yet discussed a renewal with the Bianconeri.

David Trezeguet was one of those players who ended up remaining at Juventus in Serie B. Now after seven years in Turin, the French player is unsure whether to remain at the club or move somewhere else, with the various Manchester United, Lyon and Milan all interested in acquiring him.

"Seven years at Juve are a lot and for certain verses also a reason of pride. I'm not talking about the renewal or future with the Juventus directors, these are premature talks."

Trezegol is worried that there is too much confidence of a Juventus quick return to Serie A.

"With taking for granted the return to Serie A, I fear that so much confidence can get back to us. In Serie B we suffer too much, we don't want to remain for another year."

Juventus are currently in third place in Serie B, 1 point behind the Napoli-Piacenza duo.

General: Deschamps reveals Plan A

Juventus boss Didier Deschamps has revealed that the club are already making plans for their proposed return to Serie A.

The Bianconeri look set to win back instant promotion to the top flight after demotion and the tactician wants a reinforced squad following last summer’s mass exodus of players

“We have already started talks with the club with regard to the new squad,” the former Monaco boss stated on Monday.

“I don’t need any more than three French players and I want the rest of the group to be made up primarily of Italians.

“Fortunately I have a flexible club behind me, one which is ready to listen to my ideas.

“I have the clear sensation that the owners want to immediately put together a squad of the highest calibre.”

Juve were dropped into the Second Division as part of the Calciopoli probe, a verdict which saw the likes of Fabio Cannavaro, Lilian Thuram, Gianluca Zambrotta, Patrick Vieira, Emerson and Zlatan Ibrahimovic move on.

There were suggestions that the club could take up to five years to return to its previous competitive level, but Deschamps has warned that isn’t good enough.

“I wore the Bianconeri shirt myself as a player and I know how much it weighs,” he warned. “People expect success from us.”

Juventus could have moved to the top of the table on Saturday with a win at Albinoleffe, but they were held to a 1-1 draw following Gigi Buffon’s controversial dismissal.

“Gigi should have perhaps been booked, but not sent-off,” noted the 1998 World Cup winning captain.

“But it is normal now that when a referee is in doubt when it comes to Juventus then they will go against us.”
